There will be an Open House this Wed. at The Basket Shop and The Carriage Barn in Gaylordsvill, CT. Please let me know if you plan to attend.
The countdown has begun. I have 3 classes let of each subject - I am close to the end that I can taste it.
We had a nice Thanksgiving Day - blessings to you all. Wayne and Matt had to leave about 5 PM for a soccer tournament in NJ. Now Brandi and I are watching Hairspray - very cute.
Tomorrow is Black Friday and I am going to try and be up for the mad dash.
Till next time....peace, Kathy

Survived Mid-terms
Well, I passed my two mid-terms with flying colors and I'm just so grateful that they are over. I got a 93 in Sociology and 100 in American Years of American Music - shocker for both. I also joined Phi Theta Kappa - after struggling so long I'm proud of myself - of course that and $1 will get me a cup of coffee. haha I've signed up for next semesters classes - 6 of them. I pray none of them get dropped because I need them all except the fun one that I am taking just to give me full time status. Yoga, Ballroom Dancing, Lit & Comp, Medical Terms, Basic Math (need a refresher course) and the fun one...Crime Scene Re-enactment!
The weather has cooled right down and all the leaves are off the trees - sad. It was pretty around here. Now I drive to class and it is already dark - so depressing. I'm getting ready to gear up for Christmas....yea.

I've been tagged...
Ok...I've been tagged by my good friend Diane at http://thedianediaries.blogspot.com/. She has a awesome blog that I visit often. If you're a blogger, you know that other bloggers often tag you and give you awards. This tag is for a YOU MAKE ME SMILE AWARD. Now, I have to tell you seven things about myself and and then tag a few other bloggers with the award. (I don't know how to tag others...but I would if I could).
Seven things about myself:
1. I love cross-stitch, stamping and scrapbooking ~ just don't have time to do it.
2. I grew up in farm country and it helped me to become the person that I am. You can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl.
3. My favorite color is purple.
4. Before I die I want to go to: Ireland, Germany and England
5. I am going back to school and I love to learn (just wish I didn't have to work so much now).
6. I love watching women's soccer.
7. I am a secret lover of ladybugs, bees and elephants.

Find A Cure
The month has almost gone by and I can't believe I haven't commented on breast cancer. This year Wayne's mother and aunt had breast cancer. His mother had one of her breast's removed but is doing good now. His aunt is fine and we all pray it will stay that way. If you haven't had your mamogram this year - I urge you to do so. It is not something to put off.
On the school front - it is mid-term now and I am going crazy. I had one test tonight, which I think I at least passed. I have a big paper due Monday for Sociology and I am 1/2 done. I have a paper due Thursday...guess what I'll be doing this week when I am not working.
Tomorrow a group of us from work are going to the corn maze. I've never been there before so I am excited. I know I should stay home and work on my papers but life is too short. Sat. I have to work at the Carriage Barn and then I'm going to the hospital benefit. If I can get my papers done I'll go to a Woman's Club meeting Sun. I haven't been one time this year...but I do see the light at the end of the tunnel.
The leaves are beautiful here and the weather has cooled right down - perfect cuddling up with a good book in bed kind of weather.
Peace to you all...see you at the next blog.

We all need a break...
Last night I watched again the documentary Crazy, Sexy Cancer. It was written by and stars Kris Carr, who is an amazing person. I had the pleasure of meeting her last month. She is a vibrant and beautiful woman who has cancer. I swear if you saw her you would never believe it but as you watch C,SC you see where she gets her determination from. This film was on the Discovery Health Channel and should be airing again. As some of you know I lost my dad to lung cancer 5 years ago the 17th of this month. I swore I would live life to its fullest. Then things kept putting restraints on life and I was so busy I wasn't taking time to "smell the roses". This film gave me the kick in the butt to remind me to enjoy life...not just live it. I have a very busy life but I do make sure to take time for myself...not as much as I should...but I will. Right now the 3 classes are taking up much of my time but they will not last forever.
I changed my blog name today because it's my new motto...Keep making. A strange title I know but there are many things I want to keep making...memories, friends, money, play dates, crafts, etc. It is the craziest time of my life, yet I have so many dreams and goals...I can't wait to get started on them.
I am looking into a new small business. I fell into it really...but I always believe God will give us the answers that we need and we just need to take what He offers and runs with it. Anyway, for one of my classes I needed to do an informational speech. I decided to show the class how to make cards...so I took some pictures with my camera. Once they were developed I had the class glue them to the front of cardstock. I was showing a friend them and she said they were good enough to place in her shop....so I did and I actually sold one. The person who bought the card said I should definately sell them...so this may be my new venture. I am by no means a photographer so it is really a blessing that any of my pictures are good enough for anyone else to want.
Tata for now...see you at the next blog.

TGIF
Well folks in case you didn't know it...or want to think of it...we have less than 3 months till Christmas. I am having so much fun going around to all the different blogs here and meeting some interesting people...wish I had more free time though.
School is going well, can't wait till 2 of my classes are over though.
Work is the same and everyone is fine. My mom is planning on selling her house soon so the family homestead is going soon. She is happy.
Going to see the Phantom of the Opera on the 19th - can't wait.
Blessings to everyone.

Take Time
Last weekend I saw this awesome documentary called Crazy, Sexy Cancer. It was done by a young woman named Kris Carr who has cancer. I have her blog listed under my favorite blogs. I do not have cancer but it did make me stop and reflect on my own life. I love my life. I get totally stressed at times, frustrated that things are going my way, bogged down with school and work...but for the most part life is good. I am trying to get healthier. I am working hard but remembering to take the time to relax and enjoy myself. I recently got some pictures developed of Wayne and me camping and we decided we need to do that more.
I took some pictures today and made them into cards. I'll have to figure out how to add them here as a couple of them I am rather proud of.
Happy blessings everyone.

School has started for me.
I have not been very good at keeping up with this...but today is a new day so I will try again. I have started my classes up again. I was taking 4 but have dropped down to 3. I would have taken a 4th one but there was nothing left that was available that I needed to take. If I can get my math grade up I will be able to get into the math class that I need for my degree, I'll be studying on my own for that.
The kids are good - both back at their classes.
The summer went so quick, it's hard to believe it's over - where did the time go.
Hope is well for everyone out in the cyberworld.
More later.

Monday - March 26, 2007
What a beautiful day. I am slowly figuring this thing out - it's actually pretty cool. Yesterday I scrapbooked with Brandi - boy do I need help. I'd like to get together with people and learn how to do it better. I have so many of the tools - but not the time right now. I am done with Spring Break so I need to get my nose back to the grindstone. I have a Manager's meeting at work tomorrow so that will be interesting. At our church tonight we had a Christian Sadar, it was nice.

Welcome to my world
I'm the married mom of two and a wife for 20+ years. I have wonderful supportive friends and family. I grew up in Upstate NY but have been in CT for the last 18 years. I met my Wayne while we were both in the Service.
